SUPERINTENDENT'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
4/17/26

Dear CSD Families:

Thank you to all of our families for joining us for the elementary schools’ Open House! It was such a special evening across all three schools, filled with excitement, smiles, and a true sense of pride. There’s nothing better than seeing students light up as they walk their families through their classrooms and share what they’ve been learning.

We loved seeing so many of you participating in the activities throughout the night, from scavenger hunts to hands-on art and interactive stations. These moments help bring learning to life and give families a chance to experience school through their child’s eyes.

Our students had so much to be proud of! Classrooms were filled with incredible work showcasing their creativity, curiosity, and growth, from science explorations and history projects to technology-based creations, writing pieces, and colorful artwork that highlighted student voice and imagination.

Families also had the opportunity to look through student work and see the progress that has been made throughout the year, something we know is always a highlight of the evening.

As a reminder, Rancho Cucamonga MIddle School's Open House will take place on Tuesday, April 21st at 6:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!

Open House is a wonderful reminder that learning is a team effort. When families and schools come together, amazing things happen for our students. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community and for supporting your children every step of the way.

We are so proud of our students and grateful to partner with you in their journey!

Take care,

Michael Chaix, Ed.D.
Superintendent

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Rancho Cucamonga Middle School
By Principal Bobby Collins

It has been an exciting and enriching season at Rancho Cucamonga Middle School, with students engaging in experiences that bring learning and community to life. In our science classrooms, 7th graders recently explored earth science in a hands-on way by studying rock formations and then creating their own geodes using borax. This engaging experiment not only deepened their understanding of scientific concepts, but also highlighted our students’ curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills—all key elements of our Portrait of a Graduate.

Beyond the classroom, our campus continues to foster strong relationships and a sense of belonging. Our annual Boys’ Day provided a meaningful opportunity for our 8th grade young men to connect, reflect, and build community. Through team-building activities and conversations, students strengthened their social awareness, empathy, and self-direction, reinforcing the importance of positive connections and leadership.

Our student-athletes have also been shining on the track this season. RCMS competitors have delivered outstanding performances at recent meets, dominating in both running and field events. Their success reflects not only physical talent, but also resilience, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that will serve them well far beyond middle school.

We closed out this stretch of the school year with a vibrant and well-attended Spring Carnival, sponsored by our ASB. The event featured carnival games, face painting, delicious food, and music from a live DJ, creating a joyful space for students to come together. Events like this showcase our students’ initiative, collaboration, and creativity, as they take the lead in planning experiences that strengthen our school community.

At RCMS, these moments—both in and out of the classroom—reflect our ongoing commitment to developing well-rounded students who are prepared for success in school and beyond.
