Rancho Cucamonga Middle School By Principal Bobby Collins
It has been an exciting and enriching season at Rancho Cucamonga Middle School, with students engaging in experiences that bring learning and community to life. In our science classrooms, 7th graders recently explored earth science in a hands-on way by studying rock formations and then creating their own geodes using borax. This engaging experiment not only deepened their understanding of scientific concepts, but also highlighted our students’ curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills—all key elements of our Portrait of a Graduate.
Beyond the classroom, our campus continues to foster strong relationships and a sense of belonging. Our annual Boys’ Day provided a meaningful opportunity for our 8th grade young men to connect, reflect, and build community. Through team-building activities and conversations, students strengthened their social awareness, empathy, and self-direction, reinforcing the importance of positive connections and leadership.
Our student-athletes have also been shining on the track this season. RCMS competitors have delivered outstanding performances at recent meets, dominating in both running and field events. Their success reflects not only physical talent, but also resilience, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that will serve them well far beyond middle school.
We closed out this stretch of the school year with a vibrant and well-attended Spring Carnival, sponsored by our ASB. The event featured carnival games, face painting, delicious food, and music from a live DJ, creating a joyful space for students to come together. Events like this showcase our students’ initiative, collaboration, and creativity, as they take the lead in planning experiences that strengthen our school community.
At RCMS, these moments—both in and out of the classroom—reflect our ongoing commitment to developing well-rounded students who are prepared for success in school and beyond.
