SUPERINTENDENT'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
May 16, 2025

Dear CSD Families,

We are proud to share the accomplishments of our Girls on the Run® participants, who wrapped up their season with an inspiring 5K event on Saturday, May 10, at MLK High School in Riverside. It was a celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth, with each girl crossing the finish line full of pride and joy. Despite the heat, our CSD teams supported one another every step of the way, and each girl earned a well-deserved commemorative medal.

We also want to thank our incredible staff, whose essential support was invaluable to our students for the Girls on the Run event and beyond. Your dedication, guidance, and encouragement made all the difference in helping our girls reach their full potential. The teamwork and effort from both staff and students were truly inspiring and will have a lasting impact.

A huge thank you to all the families who cheered, supported, and even ran alongside their girls. Your involvement helped create lasting memories that will inspire them for years to come.

As we approach the final week of school, we are excited to celebrate the 5th grade and 8th grade promotions next week. We couldn’t be more proud of our students for their hard work and perseverance this school year.

Congratulations to our students, families, and staff—your support and dedication have made all the difference. We look forward to celebrating these milestones together during the promotion ceremonies. Let’s make the last week of school unforgettable!

Take Care,

A Month to Remember at RCMS

This has been a fun and action-packed month at RCMS! Our students have been busy with exciting field trips, guest speakers, and opportunities to shine through music, theater, dance, and basketball.

The RCMS Dance Team wowed us with performances at Open House, a Quakes game, and their Dance Showcase. They also competed and took 4th place at the LA County Fair Competition in the Hip Hop Dance division! Our theater classes and drama club students hosted an impressive evening production and short film. Additionally, the band and choir also shared their talents in evening performances for family and friends. We even had an RCMS night where our 8th graders challenged staff to a basketball game in a packed gym, filled with fun for the whole family! We are proud of all our students for pushing themselves in new directions, growing in confidence, and overcoming nerves to let their lights shine for us all to see. Special thanks go out to Mrs. Gonzales, Mr. Wuertz, Ms. Gricar, Ms. Ramsey from Valverde Dance Studio, and all of the helpers who have committed to positively impacting our students!

Beyond campus, students enjoyed trips to iFLY, Little Chefs Academy, a Quakes game, and Purple Easel —with Universal Studios still to come for our 8th graders! We've also welcomed inspiring guest speakers for Career Day and Girls Day, giving 8th grade students a glimpse into a wide variety of professions and future possibilities. Special thanks to staff members, Mrs. Daste, Mrs. Vasquez, Ms. Escamilla, and Mr. Justice Williams, whose family members came and volunteered their time to help inspire RCMS students. Also, a tremendous shout-out to Mrs. Hill, Ms. Escamilla, and Ms. Sanchez for creating days of magic at RCMS!

As the school year closes, we were also excited to hand out over 360 certificates to students for achieving their stretch growth in i-Ready reading and/or math. Admin also rewarded classes and added champion stars to the doors of top growth classes!

It’s clear that RCMS students have grown academically, socially, and emotionally this year, and we couldn’t be more proud. As we head into summer, we’re grateful for the hard work and heart our students, staff, and families have shown all year long. RCMS is finishing 2024-2025 Lion-strong!
