SUPERINTENDENT'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
April 18, 2025

Dear CSD Families,

We are thrilled to share the success of this year’s Art & Writing Showcase, an annual event organized by the West End SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area). This celebration honors the creativity and voice of our students with special needs through original works of art, writing, and video presentations.

The 2025 ceremony took place on April 10 at the beautiful Chaffey High School Auditorium, where sixteen of our talented students from the Cucamonga School District submitted heartfelt entries. Four of those students were present to proudly showcase their work in front of families, teachers, and community members.

As a special surprise, all participating students in attendance were entered into a raffle for a $500 Disney gift card—and we're excited to announce that our very own Zachary was one of the lucky winners!

Please see the attached pictures capturing this unforgettable event, full of smiles, inspiration, and pride. These are moments our students will always treasure.

We also want to give a special thank you to our dedicated teachers, whose encouragement made this experience possible for our students. And a heartfelt congratulations to two of our outstanding educators, Jeannette Martinez and Meredith Fierro, who were recognized during the ceremony for their support and impact.

In addition, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Principal Amber Arreguin, Principal Narrie Gavares, and our Director of Special Education, Tracee Stewart, for attending the event and supporting our students and staff. Your presence made the day even more meaningful for everyone involved.

Let’s keep the momentum going—our goal for next year is to see even more student entries and an even stronger showing from the Cucamonga School District!

Thank you for your continued support in celebrating every student’s voice and creativity.

Take Care,
Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

Spring Highlights at RCMS!

Spring is an exciting time at Rancho Cucamonga Middle School! We've had some amazing accomplishments lately and there's so much to celebrate!

IReady Test Success!

Our students have just completed their third and final IReady diagnostic tests in math and reading—and the results are outstanding! Our students grew 108% in math and 163% in reading! That's something to be proud of, and we’re celebrating this incredible achievement both in the classroom and schoolwide. Keep up the great work, RCMS! Looking ahead, students will keep pushing forward as we prepare for the state tests starting the week of April 21st. Tests will be in math, reading, and science, and we know our students will continue to shine!

Celebrations

On April 2nd, the probation department treated students with Raising Cane’s to celebrate those who have had great attendance this year. Over 300 meals were served, and we want to give a huge thank you to Officer Hapripi, Ms. Escamilla, Ms. Sanchez, and all the staff who helped organize this awesome event. April 10th was our Day of Awesomeness. Students raised money through Step It Up and our top earners had the fun-filled morning as well as earning prizes.

After-School Sports Are a Hit!

Our after-school sports have been buzzing with excitement! The Track & Field team has competed alongside Ruth Musser and Cucamonga Middle Schools, showing off their skills in events like the 60-meter sprint, hurdles, and shot put. Also, our Intramural Girls Flag Football season wrapped up this past month. Girls from all grade levels competed, showing incredible teamwork and spirit. A big thank you to Ms. Payne and Mrs. Rincon for coaching and preparing our players for success. Spring at RCMS is full of energy, growth, and achievement. Let’s keep up the momentum as we finish the year strong!
